Hello! Please advise me.
I want 320GB-1TB external storage, powered by notebook. Preferably firewire support. Best is 2,5 inch, but 'small' 3,5 is fine (i guess their price is lower).

hey, dunno about what's best... but perhaps some factors may help you choose...
personally, for the smaller ones, i just buy and use a WD model, they are small, does not require additional power supply and works off your USB drive.
the larger sizes, i tend to like to buy the parts and build it myself... it's basically a box that encloses an HDD...
the bigger ones are not so portable. -
i don't think there are 3.5'' HD that are usb powered.
The largets capacity that you're looking for is probably 320gb, but I've heard 500gb 2.5'' are coming out (may already be out!) -

OK. Thanx for your reply. I guess 3,5 inch will contribute another kilo to my bag & will eat more power, so...
I'm thinking to buy
Transcend TS0GSJ25R-S StoreJet 2.5 SATA Enclosure for $15.
I guess they are faster than IDE? OR USB 2.0 limits both to the same speed?
New question is...
Which HDD is better:
Western Digital HDD SATA2.5" 320GB 5400RPM/8MB SCORPIO WD3200BEVT for $73
or
320,0 Gb HDD Fujitsu (MHZ2320BH) 5400rpm 8Mb 2.5" SATA-300
for $85
I've heard that Fujitsu are generally cooler & more reliable. Is this true?
OR is it better to get complete solution:
Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini 320GB USB 2.0 Portable Hard Drive (STM903203OTD3E1-RK) for $120?
Western Digital My Book Passport Essential 320GB USB 2,5' Black _(1) [WDME3200TE] is $125.
Your choice, guys?
