I know that you can connect a Xbox 360 Wired controller to a PC via USB, but is there a better option, in terms of price, quality, durability, and physical appeal? The Xbox 360 controllers are pretty good, but I know that there are a lot of options out there. Also, I am not looking for a flight sim controller or a specialty controller like that, but an all around controller, like the ones sold with a Xbox 360 or PS3.

I really like my Logitech Rumble Pad 2, and the software it comes with works perfectly for me.

I use a Xbox 360 controller and I am very pleased with it...
I am actually considering getting another one for 2 player gaming. -
You can use the PS3 Dualshock3 with these drivers. I've gotten them to work before, but can't be bothered anymore since I have a wireless 360 controller now.

Try looking at the Power A Pro Elite controller. I have one and it's rather decent for its price. I know it's for the PS3 but I've tested it on the PC and works rather well.

If you like the Dualshock, here's another controller I own. The vibrations are really strong, but adjustable with the drivers installed. -
I wonder, maybe it is off-tropic but, I have never actually used a controller with my lapop. Is it possible for me to connect Xbox 360 wireless controller to my laptop in anyway? I have two of those, and sold my Xbox few weeks ago..

Yes, it's possible.

+REP for fast answer. -

yes, its the receiver which catches the wireless signal from the controller, and sends it to the laptop via USB.
EDIT:
and you only need one:

Yep, they used to be like $20 but they went up for some reason.
I was lucky enough to get the receiver + controller combo for $40 a long time ago. -
im still waiting on the Razer Onza that i ordered, i think it was a year ago...LOL
hoping they start shipping next month, on fed they said march and now it seem like its going to be april, late april im sure. i hate my self for being a fan of razer...... -
Thanks for that comparison chart, I will be using the Xbox 360 wired controller, not only for it's overall good price and quality of build, but, as I should have probably mentioned, I already own an Xbox 360.

Xbox 360 for most things that absolutely require a controller. Those wireless adapters are hard to find cheap. I own one, wanted to buy another, one for laptop, one for desktop, but too damn expensive for what it does. Instead bought a wired Xbox 360 controller for PC for $28! You can buy generic wireless receivers on eBay but even though only about $20 shipped, it'd be throwing away $20 if it was garbage.
I personally like the original RumblePad (not 2) because it actually has a throttle axis and is good for flight games which I like. -
It's cheaper to grab a wireless controller+receiver bundle than get them separately. I'm lucky amazon.co.uk had them in stock.
Best gaming controller?
