Hey I'm looking for a good headset for about $60 or less but I'm not too sure what to buy!

Some popular ones I hear are Turtle Beach x11 (made for the xbox360 what works on PC), Plantronics Gamecom 367, and Creative Fatal1ty but when I read the reviews on newegg they aren't that great. Any suggestions? Anyone own a pair of those headsets I listed?

    Thx!

Have you tried looking at the Sennheiser PC161? I have that one and it's very good sound with nice bass.

The Sennheiser PC131 is a good budget option, around $30-35.

Those are like $90! Like look nice, but they're a bit out of my budget.

The PC131s aren't bad, but they're similar to what I had before and I'm looking for something that has bigger ear cups?

Thanks for the suggestions though. Anyother ideas?

If you do a little shopping around you can probably find a steelseries 5h v2 for a good price. I had them before I got my turtle beach x41s, and I loved them.

If the Sennheiser PC161 that Bearclaw is too expensive, then consider the Sennheiser PC151. They are around $60 from Amazon. Fantastic sound quality, fantastic microphone quality.

I would stay away from "surround" headsets or headsets targeted at "g4M3rZ" for $60. You are likely to get cheap pieces of plastic junk with over-bloated bass and horrible sound quality. If you're going to buy headphones, then invest in a set where the company actually put some effort into sound quality.

The Plantronics GameCom 377 is excellent for its price. Despite what kent says, the sound quality is really high up there for any headphone in its price range, let alone a gaming headset. Music sounded great through them as well as games.

I recommend the Tritton 720 headset,
It is $75 but it has an amp and if you ever play it on xbox then you will be able to hear people coming from a good distance. I love them personally and i used them on cod4 on pc and they are very very good :D
good sound quality, no bass overload though aka no subwoofer.

Would you recommend those? Are they worth $65?

Also has anyone tried these? They're on sale right now so that's why I'm wondering. Could care less about the flashy-ness, but some reviews are saying the sound quality is decent.

    Newegg.com - PLANTRONICS GameCom 377 Open-ear 3.5mm Circumaural Gaming Headset

$25 less than what I paid for mine.

I bought them a while back, and I have not regretted my decision once. They are really comfortable (they fit over your ear entirely, so nothing to push on your ears making long gaming sessions uncomfortable), they have really good speakers, and the mic is pretty decent.

All in all, they are a really good pair of headphones.

Well there was a review around, check here!. Its the first site that comes up when searching for the best headset for gamers, and is ranked best. Dont get the planatronics is my opionion if you can get this headset in your proce point. Scroll down to see the arena headset. There very stylish, look comfy and Im sure give very decent sound without the need for an amp/dac.

Also the wow headset, while nice in its own right aparently has issues with build quality from what I understand people having there plastic peaces break that hold them togather and having to deal with support wasnt good or something.

Damn after looking closer at this product seems its defective, please accept my apologies, with newegg there are more then a few customers saying that the usb on these headphones seems to want to break apart after extended use over the course of months. Unless you want to be extra careful but Id advise against it. lol, I feel dumb. The review was before alot of newegg customers chimed in though I suspect.
