Sorry if this is not the right section for this thread. I'm not really sure what this would be under. I want to know what the best (and cheap) laptop fan is. I currently have this little 15" Belkin fan FRYS.com | BELKIN for my 17" HP. I am not sure why my computer gets so hot after it's been on all day or after playing Aion for like an hour. The fan helps a little but it's not great. I need a better one and also can someone maybe give me tips on why my computer is heating up like that? Is it just because it's old?

    Any comments are appreciated. Thanks!

Oh yes, laptop cooler. I suppose that's the right term for it lol. And I currently have a dv7t built from hp.com back in February 2009. Don't have it with me atm or I will list the specs if that mattered.

And those fans look amazing! I mean coolers. Hopefully they're not too expensive... =/

I really like the Cooler Master SF-19. Should I get the usb 2.0 or 3.0? $20 difference. If they have the same functionality and everything aside from the usb 3.0 slot, then I'll just get the 2.0 because I don't have anything that uses usb 3.0. Also can I find these anywhere else besides Best Buy and Fry's?

no good getting usb 3 if the laptop u have doesnt have usb 3 already as you will be connecting the cooler to one of your free usb slot on the laptop so you will only get the speed of that socket

If your computer is only usb 2.0, then don't bother with usb 3.0 unless you plan on upgrading eventually to a usb 3.0 laptop.

I personally have it (3.0), and it is a great cooler. Not portable at all, but very light and puts out a lot of air.

I bought the usb 3.0, but I received the usb 2.0 version. I got ripped off yeah....
I have been using the 2.0 for quite some time now and I find it enough for my needs. I only use the ports for mouse, keyboard, external hard drive.

If you buy a SF-19, you might want to check out my Anti-Vibration and Dustfilter SF-19 mod guide in my sig ;)

    Cheers
