Hi there, i'm on the market for a messenger laptop bag. One who could hold a 15" inch laptop, couples of books, pens and gizmos would be perfect. The one i checked so far are the Timbuk2 laptop messenger who's nice but expensive (200$ w/delivery) and the Slappa Ballistix AURA who's nice too but looks very big. Any other suggestions guys ?

    I would say its between
    Chrome Metropolis
    and
    Timbuk2 D-Lux

Even though the Timbuk2 has a 'napoleon pocket' so you can get essentials w/o openning the flap, I'd go with the Chrome because it just looks very clean, and seems like it will keep its shape well.

I would still lean towards Timbuk2. My wife has a custom bag from them, and it is nearly bulletproof.

Is it true that the D-Lux models are made in China now ?

I believe only timbuk2 custom bags are made in the US now. Rest in China.

I have a laptop messenger that is made in China, but it feels great. Traveled to many cities and countries with it, and it still looks new =)

I think they sell them at REIs so you can go check one out if you want! And this means no shipping

I'm in Canada, so 30% shipping charges from REI and my bag isn't custom...Chrome on the other hand chrge only 8$ for shipping...Crumpler didn't charge much, but the bag itself is 220$...
