Buy a mouse by Razer brand as it will be cheaper & within your budget...look for these: Razer Krait, Razer Copperhead & Razer Diamondback...
Here: http://www.razerzone.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2_17
Mat will be Barracuda (as per budget) but you DO checkout Razer Mantis which comes in two flavours..Control (for low sensitivity) & Speed (for high sensitivity)
The mat is rollable/portable unlike other expensive mats.

So basically get all Razer? What's better for gaming, Razer or Logitech?
-
Razer...logitech is just branding & branding
-
Ok, what's the best Razer I can get for under £50 then? Might as well go for it.
-
the best mouse for gaming this year is Razer Deathadder which i use...it is under £50 ..how do u type '£' ?? (i just copied from u)
I was also planning to go for budget mouse but ended up buying deathadder which is not really expensive considering it gives best performance & looks so elegant. btw its for right-handers only. -
I am right-handed, not a lefty
I still play Deus Ex you know, don't know if you've heard of it, and most of the people who play it have really crappy computers so I'm going to absolutely slaughter them if I get a Razer lol.

Budget mouse:

NO COMPETITION AT ALL.
More expensive mice include Mx518/G-series from logitech (all logitech mice are more comfortable overall for big and small handed people. Razers are smaller, so if your hands are on the big side, you will be holding them a bit more silly way) and some razers which i don't know about.
As an owner of a mx518, no complaints. -
Don't fancy the Microsoft mouse but thanks for the suggestion
-
Do you use your palm to move the mouse or use your fingertips to control it?
Palm- Deathadder, Logitech mx518 or g5, microsoft ie 3.0
Fingertips- Copperhead, diamondback, krait, etc.
Don't make any decisions based just on this, you need to try them in a store before buying.
Also consider the diamondback 3g, it's the new version of the diamondback with the deathadder's sensor in it -
I always put palm on mouse and click with fingers. What do you reckon? I quite like the Deathadder.
-
If you like the deathadder, then go for it. It's a nice one -
I mostly put my whole palm on the mouse, it's a bit of both really.

For an inexpensive mouse I like this Logitech (I know this is an American site, but I cannot find it on Logitech's main website):

Believe it or not it is a very good gaming mouse, even though it is not branded as a gaming mouse. Two inexpensive gaming-specific mice I like to recommend are the Logitech MX518 and the Razer Krait.
Personally, I use a Razer Copperhead and it has worked wonderfully for me. I have been using it for over a year, and before the Copperhead I had a Diamondback. Both were excellent mice, although I prefer the one I have now. I am looking to upgrade to a Lachesis in the future.
My friend has a Logitech G5 and it has not held up well. The side button has stopped working and the wheel is terrible. Also, it feels weird in my hand. Many people like it though so you should go check it out too. -
MX518 i couldnt find so i bought deathadder..but mx518 was the most popular gaming mouse ..then deathadder came & took its position
Hey BTW..my friends MX518 go spoilt recently just after 6 months ...its not tracking linearly..& having negative accelerations.
Go for Deathadder.. Dont get confused...You ll never regret buying Deathadder..trust me -
What do you think of the VX Revolution?
-
not really a gaming mouse...but looks really irresistible on the website..good photographers maybe...i didnt like it when i actually saw it...too thin a scroll wheel..
Its great for non-gaming mouse enthusiasts -
Ok guys guess what mouse I bought in the end
-
The Microsoft mouse is actually a whole lot better than reputation of ms (generally).
I still say it's the best budget mouse you can get.
Also, you _don't_ need laser. It's just a marketing trick, current laser mice don't actually perform that much better than opticals.
Razers also have the nifty thing that they have "built-in" 1000hz ultrapolling, which basically means less vaste time between mouse movement and clicks.
If you want it on other mice, you basically have to mess with the Windows system files, and results aren't always guaranteed.
So if you end up buying Razer, I'd buy Deathadder, but i can say you feel mx518 as your own the second you touch it if you haven't already used Razers. -

Nope lol guess again
