I have a 15.6 gechic monitor. It's awesome. More like 18 inch diagonal because of fat, fat bezel. Still awesome.

Gonna travel with it on the airport. Based on what I've heard about portable monitors they are too delicate to go in a backpack.

What is the best hard case/cage/protection I could bring for the monitor to protect it as a carry on for an airplane?

Best? A pelican case probably. You just need to determine correct size.

Short of someone wheeling you around curled up fetal style around it, I concur with KLF.

One thing is though, pelican cases may be plastic but they're darned heavy for regular portage once you get beyond briefcase size - you would, I imagine, want to look at one of the wheeled models.
