Hi everyone! I recently made a post about digital antennas and everyone was very helpful. Now that I want to buy the TV tuner, I can't decide which one to get. I have looked at the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815116006 which seems to get good reviews, but I have heard that there is a version coming out that also has QAM support. Does anyone know when that is being released or if it is worth waiting for it and probably paying more for it? I have also looked at some of the Pinnacle TV tuners but I cannot decide which to get. I would greatly appreciate suggestions and any professional advise. Thanks!!!

Hauppage and Avermedia make the best tv tuners.
I assume you are looking for a tv tuner for your notebook.
The tv tuner you choose had lots of bad ratings, so I would stay away from it.
Also if you are using a laptop, then it is a better idea to use a express port based tv tuner, since it has a higher interface bandwidth than usb.

    For expresscard solutions:
I would look at this one by AverMedia:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815100022

    For Pcmcia solutions:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010380047+1148510222+1148417370&name=PCMCIA\

    For USB solutions:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815116017

I personally use two AverMedia M103 in my Voodoo laptop, and the AverMedia pciexpress based tv tuner in my desktop:
    http://www.aver.com/mpd/combopcie.html

    I hope this helps

Just curious about the difference between the USB solution that you linked and the one I linked other than the huge price difference. I am on somewhat of a budget, but if there is a significant difference then i would be willing to pay that much.

The USB one I linked you to, has a new firmware revision. They both use the 950 encoder.
Okay, I looked up the firmware differences and found that the one i linked you to is newer, so that it can be supported by apple.
They should perform the same, since they have the same tv encoder.

Just get the one you originally linked to
