Guys, I just bought a used netbook but it's greasy as hell on the screen and the outside.

What's the best way to clean it up without scratching up the screen and also the outside please?

    Thanks

    George

Microfiber cloth for the screen, paper towels or whatever and soapy water for the outside. Get a bottle of computer display cleaner, spray it on the cloth (NOT the screen), then wipe until clean; repeat as needed.

Anywhere I can get this at a good price? (I'm sure I have this stuff somewhere, BUT, I have too much stuff and I'll never find it..)

    Thanks

Stop at your local Eye Doctor's office, they will usually give you a microfiber cloth if you were to ask, otherwise Walmart has some pretty cheap, yet good ones.

Also, I just use a microfiber cloth & my warm "breath" on the screen and wipe gently. :) It really does work!

Also, "Caleb" wrote a really good guide a few years ago...:

Sweet. Thanks for the link. I'm a bit anal when it comes to stuff on the screen so I went with the ShaggyMac kit from the guide you posted.

    Thanks all

    George

for future reference, while you are at the opticians, lens cleaner is also used to clean LCD's. its cheaper than a lot of stuff claiming to be for lcd's.

Cool, thanks. I should have enough for awhile with the stuff I ordered and I was impressed by the guide/review but good to know, thanks.

That's interesting; I never knew that. What exactly do you mean by lens cleaner though? I have contacts and I usually have saline solution and "no rub" cleaner (3% hydrogen peroxide, .79% table salt). I believe you mean cleaner for eyeglasses, right?

yes, they normally sell them in tiny spray cans. to spray on glasses, can also be used for camera/microscope lenses and LCD's. most opticians sell them cheap, compared to computer hardware stores that sell essentially the same thing but a different label for a lot more

You can also Google recipes. Most of these glass cleaners can easily be made from home ingredients.
