I ordered an external cd rom from this vendor in the name of Cables4PC.. com in November for my eeePC. They are also on eBay as "Cables4PC" and "Buycables."
The vendor tahes more than two weeks and sends me a Floppy Drive. When I contacted them by email, they claimed that they do not make such mistakes.
The package was sent to me "Return Postage Guaranteed." On that account, I sealed it back, took it to the Post Office and sent it back to them.
They claimed they did not received it, and failed to issue a refund. Since they have the record of their shipping, they claimed they never received the return.
Credit card company can't help, since they chose only to report that I received the package.
This vendor uses the system to scam buyers out of their money.
It appeared to be a good deal at less that $20 delivered. But, it was really $20 gone.

that's why i don't buy anything online

For 20 bucks? Jeez...I know the "we did not receive thing". I had a similar issue with a targus port replicator/usb docking station. The shop in the UK said ...send it back and they will refund. 2 days later, they said...they did not receive it, bla, bla...so no refund. I told them patience...you will get it. They kept lying to me for 2 weeks. I did not panic because I sent the package and filled in the extra paperwork for an in hand delivery
. So the guys kept lying but the post confirmed and mailed me the paper with the receivers signature.
They refunded asap when I showed that with a nice paper from my lawyer. I spend 300 euros on a super duper Targus product. Never again.
Bottom line?
Never send packages without the extra paperwork. Help yourself, nobody will help you. -
I purchased an external DVD burner for my Acer Aspire One from Newegg.com at a great price. That's why I only deal with known dealers.
Good luck. I don't know if you are going to somehow pursue this but it would bug me too. -
I do trust amazon.com and newegg.com only...

Yeah, you should also go on resellerratings.com to see if their are any reports and such.

I have since found that Cables4pc has an "F" rating with the Los Angeles, CA BBB.
Guess they'll now get an F-, since I filed a complaint with the LA BBB against them.
Next, I'm going the talk to the Corporate Headquarters of the Cred Card company on how their dispute procedure aids and abetts the fraudster.
Then, there is the complaint forthcoming with the Office of Thrift Supervision on credit card operations, as well as the FTC on internet fraud.
Like the new Lilly Ledbetter Law that Brother barrack just signed, it won't help me. But, it will help others.
Just love having the time to do this, since I'm retired.
Beware of purchasing from Cables4PC or Buycables
