Hello, I just ordered a Sager NP9170 notebook. Needless to say, this computer is a bit of an investment and costs a good amount of money.

Hence, I am ready and willing to spend $100 USD or maybe even a bit more for a good bag.

    What I want:
Obviously, it should fit the laptop and have extra space. The laptop should be protected

It needs to have space for plenty of paper and random junk I want to haul around (My last bag reached 25 pounds without a laptop)

    It should be durable

It should at least be waterproof from the top

    It should be comfortable

I would prefer a sidebag, but I would go to a backpack if a compelling one were to show up.

From the small amount of research I have done, the Timbuk2 bags seem decent...

    PS: the dimensions of the Sager NP9170 are16.22” (w) x 10.87” (d) x 1.65~1.79” (h)

Thanks a ton for your help :)

Ogio makes some really nice all purpose backpacks with 17.3" sleeves included. i got mine from JCpenny last year for $60 but they have better ones for more money and are sold online. Mine is pretty comfortable and it is reasonably waterproof. Plenty of space with a laptop. Check out the larger models.

I also heard the Everki EKP120 is really nice and it absolutely HUGE. It's about $100. Here is Linus from NCIX's review: Everki EKP120 Titan Checkpoint Notebook Backpack Unboxing & First Look Linus Tech Tips - YouTube

Timbuk2 are great quality bags. I would consider picking one up in the future but I use this bag:

Oakley AP BACKPACK 3.0 | Oakley Store

I use it to transport my m17x and love the number of pockets this bag offers.

I would discourage you from getting anything that obviously looks like a computer bag to help deter theives.

    Congrats on the laptop!
