I'm looking for a Blue tooth mouse that doesn't go to sleep or power down if you leave it idle for a minute or two.
Any recommendations?

I can soundly atleast tell you to STAY AWAY from the Targus Laser-Bluetooth mouse.. I think they only make one model with bluetooth and laser so steer clear.. it goes to sleep after 15 seconds! It's ridiculous! And then you have to wait 2-3 seconds for the cursor the start moving again.
I *think* the Logitech V270 won't fall asleep for 10-15 minutes, but I truly won't know until I exchange this Targus for one. I'll report back later tonight after the exchange.

Jay, thanks, let us know how the V270 goes with regards to sleep time and other other issues relevant to semi serious gamers.
I'm looking at a VX Nano, but since my G1S has built in blue tooth I don't see the point in getting something non-bluetooth. -
I agree, I would rather take advantage of the internal bluetooth and not have a receiver sticking out.. or taking up a USB port.. Nano's adapter may not stick out, but it's still robbing people
Well now im torn between the Logitech V270 and the Microsoft Laser BT 8000..

I use the Logitech V270 Cordless Bluetooth Optical Mouse. Phew that was a long one to type.
I recommend it. No USB dongle to worry about. Just flip a switch on/off, and you're good to go.
There is a slight, maybe half a second delay when you leave the mouse on without movement for a bit. Not much delay at all.
Nice sized, smaller than desktop mice, but bigger than the super tiny notebook mice.
Best,

Ilham,
Can you do a test for me?
Can you time how long it takes for the V270 to go into 'sleep mode'? -
biggest problem i've seen with bluetooth mice is battery life. they suck the juice out of the batteries FAST! i got the logitech vx nano, and love it!

depends on your definition of sleep. my V270 stops sending info after about 60-70 seconds, as this saves power. All you have to do to get it out of sleep mode is move it for less than a second and it starts registering movement again.
If you leave it for a long while, not sure how long but it was a while, it will take 2 or 3 seconds of movement before it begins registering movement.
The V270 is very very efficient at saving power. I have had mine for more than 3 months now and it's still on its first pair of batteries, and has not registered that the batteries are running low. You can even use just one battery if it is to heavy for you, and it works just as well (though battery life will be reduced by half).
I can't say enough praise about this mouse however, it really is excellent. You can get it refurbished from Canada Computers for 20 bucks CDN (It's where I got mine).
I use the mouse for FPS gaming often, and I've never had a problem.

Okay I've had a good while to play with the Logitech V270 and can say it's 100% better than the $70 Targus Laser Bluetooth mouse I had previously. The Logitech V270 has a .5 second or less delay when it falls asleep, which won't happen for about 30 seconds of idle time maybe even longer.. Most of the time you can't even notice when it wakes up/falls asleep because it reconnects so fast. So far i'm really enjoying it.. I like the streamlined/no reciever look and feel everything on my laptop.
Logitech is about to release the Laser version of the V270 called the V470 pretty soon.. but I decided against waiting for it because it looks like it only comes in a blue color and it definately won't match my Silver/Red look of my laptopThe silver V270 looks great with my laptop.. *see pics..
It's a very nice size too, not desktop mouse size, but also not too micro tiny either (Targus was a wee bit too small for my hand). It really feels like a wired mouse when im using it.. it tracked a lot faster when I first connected it to the laptop than the wired mouse I had previously.. I had to turn down Windows mouse tracking speed.. which unfortunately makes my touchpad very slow, almost unusable.
*Will edit in the pictures asap. -
Pictures as promised..
Oh and the V270s mouse (click) buttons are pretty loud.. louder than I'd like them to be.. kind of makes me feel like im annoying people around me sometimes. -
You either have sleep (how well it's handled varies), or poor battery life. If you're unfortunate, you'll get both.
