If you something really small, try the MoGo Dapter:

It only has a 9 meter range according to the PDF file.

    regards

This thread is about Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR Class 1 USB Adapters.

Class 1 devices have a maximum permitted power of 100 mW (20 dBm) and a range greater than or equal to 100m (328ft).

The said MoGo Dapter from Newton Peripherals is a class 1 device with a maximum permitted power of 80 dBm and a range of 30 ft.

Similar devices are also available from Cirago (Cirago BTA-3210 Micro USB Bluetooth Dongle (Part Number: BTA-3210)) and Princeton (Princeton Bluetooth USB Adapter (Part Number: PTM-UBT3S ))

Read before you post. The OP has even made it clear in the post "...Class 1 (>100m) USB Adapter...". I request the administrators to delete Arlab's post to avoid confusion for other members.

PS: For all the hype, Mogo Dapter is not yet available for sale. Princenton's PTM-UBT3S is from Princeton Technology, Japan and is not easily available for sale outside Japan. As far as Cirago BTA-3210, it is a poor product and not worth the price or form factor!

    I wouldn't sweat it, arlab.

I've been pretty happy with my Bluetake Bluetooth USB adapter, but it's an older 1.2 version. Their Class 1, 2.0 + EDR adapters are the BT007SX and the BT007Ex.

Members, please state what you use or recommend. We are interested in Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR Class 1 USB Adapters or Dongles which have a range of 100m or 328ft. Thank you.

Does it really matter? Anyways, it is not the adapter or dongle but the software that determines what you can use Bluetooth for. Currently software from Widcomm and Bluesoleil are popular.

Can anyone confirm which of these (from the top of the tread, or some not listed here) come with BlueSoleil 5.0 (if any)

    I would get this:
    http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/04/logitecs-bluetooth-2-1-edr-adapter-offers-300-foot-range-and-5x/

by far the best sounding adapter I have seen and abit future proof, but I do not think its out yet.

I just personally ordered this one because I am needing a BT connection for my desktop computer to use my Wii Controller and this one is supposed to work.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833340002
I will post back how well it works in my Wii Controller guide probably today because its supposed to arrive today.

This is the only good rated adapter with BlueSoleil I could find:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833343001

Only version 3.2 tho I think.

Also free tip: BT 2.0 is EDR. I noticed some items on newegg say BT 2.0 + EDR and some done but any of them have it because EDR is part of the BT 2.0 spec.

sure it is :p, if you don't like it that doesn't mean its not there or not an option.

I have never had any real problems on ebay.

Anycom has released Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR But Class 2 USB Adapter.

My search is still on for Bluetooth 2.0 and 2.1 + EDR Class 1 USB Adapters.

You might want to try this one from BlueRadios. It's BT2.1+EDR and Class 1. However, it's got USB 1.1 instead of 2.0. Don't know if that matters.
