So, I have pretty much determined neither of the two devices I would like to see exist, but maybe one of you guys can do better than me!!

Why is it there is no such thing as a bluetooth remote, to watch movies without getting up every time you need to hit pause, or a bluetooth controller, to play emulator games and stuff?? I would really like to own BOTH of these items, since I am picky and hate pluging things into my computer!! I have looked everywhere, and it appears they don't exist. Any guesses why, or can someone prove me wrong?? Thanks, should be interesting to see I guess ;)

As to the remote, without looking I'd have to guess they exist, but probably not with a ton of functions. In fact, if you have a BT mobile phone, you probably already have a remote. I know with my K700i I can control PPT presentations and even the computer since it takes over for the mouse.

As for the gaming pad, haven't seen that but have to imagine one will be coming soon.

I thought blue tooth was supposed to be the future for connectivity. And for a time I thought it was gaining some steam but it's been ho hum lately. I mean logitech introduced ONE new mouse that uses bluetooth. I feel kind of dumb for getting it in my dell. Are there some flaws in bluetooth that make an "old fashioned" 2.4 ghz wireless connection better?

i use a logitech DiNovo keyboard, and the numeric pad it completey detached from it, it uses bluetooth and has media controls built onto it, it also has a display, so it can be used as a stand alone calculator, and it can display what song your playing, if you have new emails or new msn convos, you can also control the computer with it using the start menu button and arrow keys, this sound like just what you looking for. logtech are soon releasing this keyboard agin, but with bluetooth 2.0 and the laser moue (also bluetooth..GREAT) so if your planning on getting one, i'd wait a few weeks....

Bluetooth is huge, it probbaly just doesn't touch your life that much. You also have to remember that we're much further behind in its adoption in the US than Europe.

If you have one of the phones supported, you can use it as a remote.. It can do things like control winamp/itunes and a variety of other programs:

    Very cool stuff!

That sucks. But what exactly makes blue tooth so special. I've only used it once and that was to connect my computer to an ibook to download some music.

Well, thanks for the replies. Looks like I just need to keep my fingers crossed for someone to come out with these things!! I don't have a bluetooth phone (would have gotten one had I known I would get a computer with it) and the keyboard that camel recommended sounds good, but I really don't need the keyboard!! Too bad I can't just buy the numeric pad!! Anyway, I guess I'll keep my eye out, thanks alot.
