I've tried a couple a2dp (?) bluetooth headphones which sound great and have decent range but there is a noticable latency when using them during gaming. (shoot your gun, wait 500-1250 ms and hear the gunshot)

Are there any bluetooth headsets (w/ integrated mic) good for this type of usage (also want to use it w/ my phone)?

Or, is the latency I've experienced typical of the technology.

a full second is a LOT of latency, even for a bluetooth headset.

even new bluetooth tech isn't low latency, but my logitech freepulse headphones work for gaming without lag.

HT820 was first BT headphones I tried. I had lag with them. That, and they are obnoxious looking.

I'm looking at the Sony HBH-DS200's

The latency you have experienced is not typical of the technology itself, but common among other laptop users on this forum; meaning a lot of people experience your problem, but if it's working properly it *shouldn't* happen. Personally I had lag problems with my logitech mouse , but then I got some updates for my Bluetooth device and it solved the problem (broadcom 2045 +EDR bluetooth).

Make sure you aren't using the Windows Bluetooth Stack, and make sure you're up to date on anything bluetooth related.

I would recommend trying the Freepulses, they work great.

I'd prefer one with earbud headphones so I don't look like I'm talking to my spaceship in orbit. Integrated mic is a + too.
