I'm looking for a nice BlueTooth mouse, preferably full sized as I have large hands and really don't mind carrying around the extra weight.

    Any suggestions?

    Ordered: Compaq x6000, 3.0ghz, SXGA+, 512mb, Ati x600 256, 60gig 7200, WiFi+Bluetooth

You don't have many choices. The Logitech MX900 is very good though, that's what I use.

I use the microsoft intellimouse explore for bluetooth. Its been working well for me, has a nice feel in the hand, and came with a v.small dongle, which is what sold it for me over the logitic one.

The only problem I have with the Microsoft model is that you can't use it to pair other devices, it's exclusive to MSFT.

Thanks for the input, my new laptop has built in Bluetooth, so I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't need to use any included BT adapter.

Brian, the mx900 has a seperate charger/BT receiver. Do you use yours with normal Alkaline batteries, without the base station? Would advise doing that?

Ok, so for now I ended up switching mice from the computer I built my parents. I "borrowed" the Logitech Media mouse and left them with my mx700 (don't use it anymore since I got the mx1000). I did this primarly because the dongle for the wireless reciever is small and the mouse has an on/off switch which makes it ideal for travel.

I think I'm gonna hold off for now on a bluetooth mouse until Logitech (hopefully) realeases a new (full sized) bluetooth mouse that has an on/off switch and/or that will run on normal batteries.

Brian: im not sure which model you have but on my mouse it says intellimouse explorer for bluetooth and on my keyboard it says wireless optical desktop for bluetooth.

with the microsoft bluetooth adapter i have already paired my phone, GPS, PDA, BT network accesspoint, and obviously the mouse and keyboard (what im typing on now)

I use the MX900 as well. THe charge in the batteries lasts a solid day at least for me, so for trips to school it's perfectly fine. Taking the rig home for the weekend requires that I lug along the charger or a few sets of AAs. I'm not sure how long the AAs will last.

The MX900 literature on the logitech site basically says that if you're not rocking the base station that you'llonly have basic point and click, two button mouse function. THis isn't the case for me. Without the station, using internet explorer, I have 6 buttons fuctioning and a scroll wheel. I can't complain!

Good luck in your hunt for a BT mouse!

Curious what did your guys pay the MX900 ? I see it a Staples for 149.00 - pretty pricey for a mouse [:0] - but if it works well - I could convince myself .....

microsoft has its own bluetooth mouse, i am using one right now, its not recommended, its better to spend more money and get the logitech laser mouse

I haven't tried that, but I've used an IO BT adapter and other products from them without issue.

I am in the same boat as gauntlet and basically need a large sized BT mouse. The Logitec models are too small and with all the web design I do, finger cramps come often. MS's BT mouse is the right size and weight, but I have concerns about just about BT issues that I have heard with it. The newer one is supposed to be better, but who wants to pay that much for a possible paper weight.

I also would like some BT game controllers if someone out there (MS and Logitech) are listening.

I just bought the microsoft bluetooth mouse, and it works well with the built in bluetooth of my HP notebook without the need the software that comes with it. I did not want to install as i worry of possible conflicts between the internal and external bluetooth.

However, i wish to configure the mouse buttons ... so tried to install the software, until the part where it asked me to put in the usb bluetooth receiver where i quit the installation.

Now the microsoft mouse software seems to installed and running but any changes to the mouse button configuration does not take effect.

Any suggestion? I would probably need to run the complete installation with the external bluetooth receiver and see if it works but somehow i feel the "risks".

I've been using my Logitech MX900 for my notebook, although I originally bought it for my desktop.

I too am waiting for a full size bluetooth mouse w/ forward and back buttons and an on/off switch. Hopefully Logitech or MS will release one soon once they realize the demand for this feature.

I have found a work-around for using the MX900 for my laptop on a regular basis. I purchased 4 energizer 2500mAh NIMH batteries with a 30 minute quick charger. These batteries exceed the 1800mAh rating of the oem batteries that come with the MX900 and I find that the batteries last for at least 3 days with regular use without removing the batteries during transport. If the batteries do die, I just pop in the spare Energizer batteries and I'm good to go for another 3 days while recharging it using the desktop base station when I get back home or using the Energizer charger at my hotel room. It's not a perfect solution, but until MS or Logitech release a mouse with an on/off switch, I've found it to be a good compromise.

Any rec. for a small, portable (light weight) bluetooth mouse. I am getting the s7020 when it comes out, and that has bluetooth built in. I am looking for the opposite of most of you- small and light; an on/off switch or automatic off is imp. too, and I want something that doesn't require the base. Thanks for any input.
