Sooo... I have a set of bluetooth headphones (ikross), and everytime I turn them on they automatically connect to my laptop (Y580) as I've paired them, but the audio is terrible.. However, If I disconnect the headset using the control panel and then reconnect the same way, the sound is perfect. Its very bizarre, and equally annoying. I've read this is a profile problem, but don't know how to fix it. Does anyone know how I might avoid the second step? I really like these headphones... when they work...

It's a problem with the Windows Bluetooth profile alright. The only other remedy around this is to set another playback device as the default in the Sound control panel. Then when you connect your headphones, you can go into the playback tab and select the headphones and set them as default again. Windows has a problem with starting the audio service to the bluetooth headsets too early. It doesn't give the bluetooth stack enough time to start the A2DP protocol. To date there has been no fix for this yet. It only will occur if your bluetooth headset it set to the default playback device when you disconnect the headset from the system.
