I need help with a problem im having with my bluetooth. Im trying to get my logitech mx900 mouse to work, and its not. Heres a copy of the email I sent to broadcom, the bluetooth chip company.

I purchased a notebook computer with a broadcom bluetooth chip in it, and installed drivers the factory gave me. However, I can never get my bluetooth mouse to be found, a pop up message always tells me the bluetooth device could not be found. Also, whenever I click on the "my bluetooth places icon", it just gives me the same message. Does this mean I do not have the correct drivers for the bluetooth chip, or that there is no chip installed at all? Finally, I looked in the device manager, and this is what I saw. There was an option for bluetooth devices, and when I clicked on that, there was an option called bluetooth bus enumerator. That was it. Double clicking gave me the properties, and said it was made by broadcom, driver date 4/20/06, version 5.0.1.2800, not digitally signed. Please email me back with what all this means exactly, and if there are updates drivers that will actually make the bluetooth fuction. Thank you!

It seems like either rjtech.com didnt put in the bluetooth chip, or I dont have the correct drivers. So wierd. Even when trying to acess the bluetooth component bthprops.cpl in run, nothing comes up. Any ideas people???

What is the color of the BT icon in your systray? If it's blue/red, your BT isn't activated. If it's white/red or green/red, have you tried locating/pairing/connecting the mouse? After locating BT devices, some require you to connect then pair. Don't know why, but my headsets get different setups.

Ok, its red, but as of now I have uninstalled the bluetooth drivers, and disables my antivirus. After researching, it looks like Broadcom is now Wincomm, and im looking at driverguide.com for any drivers that might help me. I had also wondered is I didnt have the HIT bluetooth profile installed, which I belive is the profile needed for a bluetooth mouse. However, im sure that would come with the correct drivers. But as I said, all traces of bluetooth are gone, the uninstallation even got rid of the icon in control panel. So hopefully I can find the right driver. One thing does worry me, I used add hardware, and it didnt even detect a bluetooth chip existing. Maybe it cant without the right driver? Ok well if anyone else, like a bluetooth pro, can gimme advice, please dear god do so.

I have a Compal Hel80 - one confusing thing about the bluetooth management is that your wireless hardware switch must be on. Then, you right click the Intel "W" icon in the system tray and select "option". A popup will show the wireless select switch options, which are bluetooth, wifi, bluetooth wifi, and none. Select the option you want.
