I just received this new headset yesterday. My previous headset was a Dell BH200, and the laptop I'm using is a Dell XPS 15 (L502x) with Windows 7. When I wanted to listen to the laptop's audio through the Dell BH200 headset, I powered on the headset and hit the play/pause/power button once more for an automatic connection, easy-peasy.

The new Sony XBA-BT75 is not being so cooperative. I have successfully paired it with my laptop while having removed all traces of the previous Dell headset. However, in order to actually hear my laptop's audio, I have to go into the Bluetooth device list, click on the XBA-BT75, and click "Listen to Music" under "Operations." I have to do this every single time. If I turn off the headset and turn it back on later, it will automatically establish a connection, however, it will enter "Forward VoIP Calls to Handsfree" mode instead of "Listen to Music" mode, which means that I do not actually hear the laptop's audio through the headset. I have to manually tell it to "Listen to Music" instead. I have also gone into the services tab of the device properties and unchecked "handsfree telephony" as well as "headset" services, so all I have checked are "audio sink" (A2DP) and "remote control/remotely controllable device." But this does not stop the device from automatically entering handsfree mode upon powering it up.

Does anyone know how I can get this working properly? If I have to manually tell it to enter "listening to music" mode instead of "forward voip calls to handsfree" mode every time I turn it on ( despite handsfree telephony service being disabled), that's a dealbreaker for the device, and I'll be sending it back. I can't imagine that's the way it's gonna have to work. But I certainly haven't been able to find a solution yet. :[

A few days later, I've been unable to find a solution, so I sent them back. They were also not very comfortable and did not sound as good as my older, much cheaper Dell BH200 headset.

So, if anyone has a solution, feel free to post, but it's no longer very relevant to my interests. :]
