So, after a few comparison threads here, I think I've narrowed down my bag to the Tom Bihn Brain Bag. However, because it's so expensive, I want to make sure that I haven't missed any alternatives just in case.

Laptop: 15" MBP w/ power adapter and a few DVDs.
Other stuff I need in the bag: 2-3 large-volume textbooks. Possibly a small notebook or pad (as backup). A few folders and papers. Ipod.

So first off, from the review here, the Brain Bag is plenty big. I want to confirm it'll be able to hold everything I listed above.

Also, there are rumors of a new mini-Brain Bag in the works, which interests me greatly. Anyone have info on when it'll come out? Will it still be roomy enough to fit everything I need?

Any other suggestions for backpacks as well?

    Thanks.

I thought the Brain Bag was too expensive when I was looking for a bag for my 17" notebook.

I ended up buying a Heys' ePac 17.
They also make backpacks for 15" notebooks. Just have a look at their website.
They're really great bags and I really recommend them.

It's a Canadian company but you can buy their bags from some U.S. Dealers.

Just my suggestion for another option.
