Is there a way to enable my USB keyboard to bring my laptop from standby?

My laptop's keyboard (the default, non-USB one) works fine when I am trying to bring the laptop from standby, but for some reason, keystrokes in a USB keyboard are not recognized by Windows when the laptop is in standby mode.

My OS is Windows XP Professional.

Huh thats strange usually it simply recognizes the usb keyboard as the device... I can only suggest just clicking your mouse instead that will also boot it from standby
