M-audio transit is pretty good. I personally would avoid anything from creative, I had their x-mod and I hated it. But moved to a bit higher class than 50$. I currently use a Echo AudioFire2, and I must say that it sounds great, I wouldn't ever go to something less. What headphones are you using? Or are you using a speaker system, if you are and its a 5.1 system then you'll need a different card that supports the 5.1.

I like the Creative X-Fi Go... better than the built in Sigmatel HD Audio
