Hi guys
I am planning to buy some good headset that i can use for both gaming and music purpose. I was planning to buy the Steelseries Siberia v2.
1. My budget being somewhere around $60-$80 . (Could increase it only if its a really really really amazing headphone)
2. The problem that i have faced with my current headphones and most of the other cheap headphones i bought was that i cant use them for more then an hour before my head starts aching. Which is the main reason I am looking for a new pair of headphones.
3. I do listen to alot of music and do gaming for like 3-5 hours.
So could anyone please suggest me a good headset Or is the Siberia v2 the best i could get. And how is the music quality for the Siberia v2?
PS:- I am not a audiophile. So i just want something that could give me good quality music.
Another reason i am inclined to a Siberia v2 is the Pull-out mic .
Also could someone suggest me good Earphones for solely Music purpose that i could use with my mp3 player / ipod / mobile phone and some nice Speakers (5.1 preferred) i am currently using creative 2.1.
Thanks.

You may be laughing at the color but this headphone is a beast!
Amazon.com: Audio Technica ATH-AD700 Open-air Dynamic Audiophile Headphones: Electronics
Just buy a clip on mic and you'll be good to go. The soundstage on this thing is AMAZING. Great for games. I use it for Battlefield 3 all the time. No regrets at all. -
what about music quality ?? because here in India its for like $110 ... And to add to it .. they aren't available in India at the moment and its too late for me to order them from amazon. Cuz they wont reach be by the 3rd of sep. unless i got for some NBD shipping.

I can vouch for the ATH-AD700. Audio Technica's wing-system is the most comfortable I have tried. You barely know they're on your head. Soundstage is great but they will lack bass and leak sound because of the open design. They can easily be run by an iPod/mp3 player/smartphone as well.
Not too sure on the Siberia v2. I used to own the SteelSeries 5Hv2, but they lacked the sound quality I was looking for. The mic is great though. -
How do they compare to your Grado's?

The music quality in my ATH AD700 is just amazing. So clear. lacks bass though. Please tell me you're not the type of person that when it offers good bass its already amazing. LOL.

I'm tempted to try the ATH-A700. What types of music is the soundstage of the A700 more suited for?

If you can stretch your budget a bit more, you'd probably love the Sennheiser HD 280s. $100 brand new on Amazon, and I'm sure you can find them cheaper on eBay. They've got big, padded cups that completely surround your ears, an adjustable headband, and really good sound for the price. It's not the most neutral set of headphones, but the colour they do lend (a bit of extra bass and low midrange) is generally pleasing.

I've got the AD900 but a friend has the 700 model, although the 900 is overall better, 700 is not far off and definitely one of the top headphones for pc imo.
