I just received the Buffalo BR-X1216U3 USB 3.0 external Blu-Ray burner from Japan.

The specs look fantastic (BD-ROM burns at 12x), but I am afraid to plug it in to the AC current because on the back of the unit is a sticker indicating it only accepts 100V 50/60Hz.

The standard in Japan is 100V; however, many Japanese electronics devices accept 120V.

Unfortunately, Buffalo does not have any authorized repair centers in the US.

Any suggestions on a good 3rd party repair tech who can help me to locate and adjust the jumper switch to 120V? Or any suggestions for a good quality step-down converter?

Here is a link to the dedicated page on Buffalo's Japanese website:

    Many thanks!
