I have purchased three different wireless notebook mice over the last three years with varying degrees of satisfaction. One was a Logitech that I used for less than a month before giving it to a friend. It was very hard plastic and the action of the wheel and buttons were awful.
The two that I have been happier with are the Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 3000 (worked great for about 10 months then died). I replaced it with the Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 4000. I've had it almost 18 months and have been very content. Unfortunately, I've managed to wear out the scrolling wheel.
Should I just get another Microsoft-branded one? I don't need or really want a lot of extra features. I have a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000 for my desktop that I love, but I've disabled the click-wheel and the two-buttons- so basic functionality is what I'm wanting.
Ideas?

try a logitech v470. May cost a bit more but worth it. Looks nice, scrolls are very good and buttons are easy to use

Hi.
I thought about getting the v470, but a review said that the laser was not in the middle of the mouse, and might cause problems for gamers.
So i ordered the v270.
regards
John.

I checked out the V470 online and it looks pretty nice. I ended up going to Staples last night and their selection was rather limited. I went with the Microsoft Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 7000 which was $49.98. I love it so far, just getting used to the right/left click buttons which require much less pressure than the MS Optical Mice I've had previously.
I already have the MS Laser Mouse 5000 on my desktop at work, so it's much the same overall feel. I'm finding that laser mice don't like many surfaces that optical ones work fine on. -
What about the VX revolution or the VX nano?
-
I have the VX nano, and I like it.
the wheel action has both tactile and smooth scrolling, just press to swap between the 2 modes, also the usb fob sticks out about 1/8 of an inch (3mm) when plugged in so I just leave it in all the time. although it is a bit pricey at about $70 USD
I see you've already picked one, but maybe it'll help someone else. -
