    Hello!

Im currently looking for a mouse to use along with SolidWorks and other engineering CAD programs, and also doing some graphic design, mostly Photoshop and Illustrator.

What I am looking for is precision, good battery time, cordless. I somehow cant use corded mouse anymore. It keeps being too long and disturbing or too short and have to pull it. Nightmare.

I am looking at Logitech as they never dissapointed me, even the most basic ball models.
Possibly laser. Ive seen some users have VX Nano, but I rather have something bigger but not necessarly. What about VX revolution??
I prefer ergonomics and I will game using it but rather casually but for loong hours so comfort is a key.
Anything else I should look at?

    Please help.
    Price is not a problem.

if u have open budget then i ll tell u only one word.

    Razer Lachesis.

    Why? it has phenomenal 4000DPI.

which will give u godlike precision & its a Gaming grade mice so you ll enjoy gaming.

But but but, for serious CAD workstations i ve heard u need Trackball based mice?

Lachesis doesnt have TrackBall like Logitech Trackball Mices

Lachesis is a mice with 5 Customizable buttons, on-the-fly-sensitivity.

Even i was a Logitech loyal but after trying out Razer mice i think Razer have better performance on the long run.

So now u have to make a choice,
if u want trackball or not.

Trackball aint good at all for Gaming as they are made for CAD.

let me know if u have any further Doubts

for TrackBall, logitech which i mentioned is better.

Without TrackBall Razer Lachesis is a Perfect choice.

Honestly, I never used a track ball. The only thing that bothers me with Razor is the cord. I know wireless is not that responsive etc but... hm. And what about the comfort of using it for extended periods of time? That is why I currently have the ergo shaped logitech. Just thought I would get something new ;) as my gf needs a mouse ;)
Anyway, Im getting confused now ;)

I am an architecture student, so I do a lot of cad with autocad, rhino and such, and I have had many mouses before, and the logitech G5 is the one I take as mine.
I have both the two thumb button and the earlier one thumb button version of the Logitech G5, and I love both of them. They are very responsive, and great with CAD. It has adjustable speed, DPI and weights :D

Firstly, Lachesis is a Corded mice with 1000 Hz responsive rate, giving u Realtime response. less than even 1 ms.

    normal mice are 8 ms.

Secondly, I dont know why u are inclined towards a particular brand.

Razer inc. is the world leader in high performance mice.

logitech just makes consumer level mice. except their G series as the K-Tron mentioned. but they dont make extremely High DPI mice.

So i think for CAD you should give Razer Lachesis a shot.

otherwise i cant help you between VX nano & Revolution.

both are normal day to day usage mice.

So do u feel more decisive now?

Ok. Im not really towards any brand but I always have been confident with Logitech and it never dissapointed me.

So now, what mouse with the quality of Lachesis but cordless? Anything at all, or at least close?
