RED DRAGON RAWR!
Build
The build is VERY good here. Nothing feels cheap or plastic, and the rubberized sides are as good as the MX518.eek
. There is nothing to complain of the scroll wheel feels good, and has good grip. The buttons on the mouse face have to be pushed down a good way to work, which is great because it is impossible to accidentally hit the top buttons. My ONLY beef with this mouse is the scroll wheel to click it, it is quite hard. I mean I honestly can deal with it, but I can see why it was mentioned in some reviews. You have to apply quite a bit of pressure for it to go in. So if you are use to the easy click in scroll wheel like a Logitech mouse, it may take a while to get use to this.

AWESOME ROPE CHORD!
Price
Very good price, I paid $50 plus shipping on Amazon, TOTALLY worth it. The MSRP is supposedly $69.99, but even for that with how good this mouse has been so far, I would actually pay that.
Design
The Design is awesome. That is really all that needs to be said, 8 colors customizable, OLED DPI and Logo Indicator, great ergonomic s, etc. The lights up front are really nice, but when you use the mouse you hardly notice it anyway. The bottom is also very nice and well designed with a matte black looks and a flat bottom. The palm area is also very nice I could use this mouse for hours with no problems at all. One thing that I really like about the mouse, and that I think is neat is the mouse has a rope style USB cable. It is VERY nice and built well it makes you realize how cheap a rubberized USB cable is, in comparison to this rope look and feel. The cable is also like 5 ft long which is pretty sweet.

LIGHTS OFF!
Features
Hm, let’s start off with 5600 DPI which is INSANELY fast. I tried to use it in game but it is so sensitive the only way I can see it being usable is for that sniper who needs really quick AIM. 1100 DPI is what I keep it on, that is dead stock as well. There is no lower DPI setting, but to be honest it is perfectly fine, it’s not too fast and it’s not too slow. The 3 speeds are 1100, 2600, 3800, and 5600. 2600 is not so bad, I was able to deal with it pretty well while gaming. It’s good for games where you need to turn around fast (FPS). I also never even mentioned the weights yet it is very easy to put in and out, when I opened the box, the weights are already inside of the mouse. You get 5 4.5G weights, which I kept all of them in because I like the feel of a heavy mouse. It also makes the front nicer to move with all the weights in the back.

Conclusion
In conclusion this mouse it totally worth it, you get most of the Mamba’s features (Except wireless) for half the cost. I think that speaks in loud words, not to mention the build quality and design is no slouch either.

That does look like an awesome mouse, although the "white" light setting looks more like a lighter blue. That could just be camera shenanigans though.
Also, is it true that you can customize the little logo on the OLED display?
Rep for a good review!
I'd like to see a 3-way head to head review of this, the Razer Imperator, and Logitech G500, since they're all similarly designed and are the kings of DPI at the moment. -
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
ACtually white does look light blue for some odd reason....there is also yellow, pink and all this other stuff as well.
Thanks for the Rep
Yeah a 3 way review would be great. This isn't my full review, i will add more in over time because its too much to really write at this time. I will discuss the software and the gaming performance more in depth. -

Oh, for those who are wondering here is the mouse in red (Of course
) With my custom Logo.
-
Beautiful.
I honestly wish my Razer mice had a bit more lighting effect options besides just the logo pulse and scroll wheel. Even some different color options would be nice. As it is, only certain mice are available in different colors, and they're not changeable, i.e. you either have a blue Lachesis, a white one, or a red one. And there are some with even less lighting, or none at all (Salmosa, for instance).

Settles it, i'm getting this for christmas. Or I may spoil myself and order it tommorow and say its a christmas present, to myself

1100 DPI is the lowest setting? Guess it's not for me then. Well, I guess I could turn down every single mouse sensitivity setting down, but...
Does look very nice. I'm assuming this mouse is conducive to palm-gip?
I do like the shape. -
mmm, great pictures.

time to visit the store
-
Yay review! Good to see you got yours.
I agree with the wheel scroll click being a slight bugbear. Didn't even realize it was there initially until I really pushed down.
-
Awesome review! This really looks like a winner for a cheap but well made gamer mouse.
-
Yeah, the braided cord is tough to beat. When I went from the MX518 to the G9, that was one of the first things I noticed was the lack of resistance from the cord, even if it was sprawled and tangled with the other cords or stuff on my desk.
It use to be the cord would affect my mouse enough to where I taped it down to where the slack would never deteriorate. Now I can let it dangle or do whatever with it. -
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
Ok, thanks for telling me about the DPI i didn't realize you could lower it in the software.
-
The middle mouse button does take more force than the left or right mouse buttons on the G9. Probably throws people off a bit. I had no problems adapting since it give a very very solid feedback click when you do press it. I haven't had issues with it clicking and not registering.
-
Yeah, the G9 scroll wheel was definitely tough to click properly, especially in free-scrolling mode, although it wasn't much better in notched-scroll mode. It would always want to scroll in either direction before getting enough downward pressure to click.
-
No problem. I tend to absorb everything about something in a very short amount of time. It's one of those useful, yet sometimes annoying, quirks of mine.
Did ya get an extra set of mouse feet with yours? That made me smile. Then I looked at the software and went.
-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
...no, i didn't get extra mice feet. Did you?
Lol i like how you have the razer on top of the razer logo, lol
Man you have a G13 as well? Someone is getting robbedYeah the software is one of my favorite parts did you though the custom OLED like me?
-
-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
yeah you saw mine on the first page i have the Japanese symbol for Dragon.
That is wack, how did you get extra feet and i didnt?
Oh well, thats life(I guess) -
Newegg has done that to me b4. They once sent me an XP disc without a license. I got an exchange after much work.
-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
Lol! How does that work? Was it a bulk item?
-
Honestly, the feet on mine weren't all that bad to begin with. Guess they took the better safe than sorry frame of thought and just tossed them in with that production's lot anyhow. -
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
Well thats what i was going to say, the feet were never really a problem for me out the box and even now either. It DOES however pick up a lot of dust but that doesn't seem to be affecting performance.
Hm, i never knew there was a forum...lol. I am gonna have to get on that, thanks for the news on the update as well -

Well we got a new CM Storm user. Vaath bought one, congrats
-
We need more tests. Drop it on the floor 100 times.
Let a dog drool on it.
Cat playing with cord.
The usual hazards of being a computer mouse. -
I was debating between this one and the Razer Mamba, but the positive reviews I read online and the price simply makes this one a winner.
-
Changing DPI on the fly is always cool but nothing new as my old G5 did that. Playing with the colors is a blast on the mouse, I find that the blue color matches the blue LED fans on my gaming desktop.
I have not had time to play around too much with the included software, but it does show alot of cool possibilities.
Gonna play some more online shooters tonight to pinpoint my favorite DPI. Also another improvement over my G5 is it actually shows you what DPI your at instead of just a 3 leveled light system.
My desktop has been getting all the use, so going to buy another for when I play some bootcamp games on my Macbook when i'm on the go.
Thnx for the awesome review Red_Dragon, was a good read and a great product!
