Has anyone dealt with CPS extended warranties or service plans? They offer protection for everything from cameras to automobiles. I just was talked into buying one of their plans (with my new Vaio TX850) and now I'm wondering if they will come through if I ever need it. I know many service plans and extended warranties are not worth the paper they are printed on. Searching online only show that there are lot's of electronics retailers selling these plans/warranties. But I see little to no discussion from people who've bought them, much less made a claim on them.
Anyone???

Anyone? Surely someone else has bought one of these?

The reason for lot's of electronics retailers selling these plans is profit!
Their profit margins for these extended warranties are a lot bigger then selling the hardware and on top of that they have no inventory to support (they only have to pay the company once the plan is sold).
It might be a good idea to validate your warranty with the company directly just case the retailler did not report the sale and paid for it.(It has been known to happen with some retaillers pocketing the money).
Lastly, it is hard to comment on such purchase since you already commited hard cash for it.
Other alternatives, the manufacurer's extended warranty plan or even better and free, buy it with a GOLD type Credit Card as most of them provide an extra year of waranty on top of the basic manufacturer's for free!
