Does anyone know where to buy them anymore...ones that had good res? I am pondering about buying one but can't seem to find any...maybe i am looking in the wrong places? Plus i have no clue about them anymore.

Am i better off looking at a DLP TV or something? Are they not basically the same thing?

You can really only find them used these days. They might be hard to find, and cost way too much money for a good one, or you might luck out and find someone offloading one for cheap. But if it isn't in your area, shipping might be ridiculous. This is something you might need to keep an eye out for for a very long time.

No, they have nothing to do with each other.

What are you use the CRT for? Gaming? Movies? Web browsing?
What are you using a DLP TV for?
What are you using a Plasma TV for?

In general, these are all obsolete technologies for consumers. For 99.99% of the people out there, there is absolutely no reason to buy any of these.

CRT is an obsolete technology for consumers.. CRT monitors FORMERLY had better prices, color, and contrast when LCD monitors were first coming out. This advantage stopped in about the mid 2000's, since LCDs have come down in price, and since LCD panel technology has matured to the point where you can get great color & contrast.

DLP is an obsolete technology for consumers. DLP televisions FORMERLY made sense when you could buy a gigantic screen (55"+) for a much lower price than LCD or Plasma TVs. This advantage stopped in the late 2000s, when large LCD televisions became cheap enough to make DLP technology obsolete.

Plasma is an obsolete technology for consumers. Plasma televisions FORMERLY made sense when you wanted a gigantic screen that was larger than what LCD technology could provide (55"+), or when you needed better viewing angles than what LCD could provide (for example, in a sports bar). This advantage stopped in the late 2000s, when large LCD televisions became cheap enough to produce, and since LCD televisions matured to the point where they have almost perfect horizontal viewing angles.

Seriously, I don't understand why you are asking about these technologies. They are all completely obsolete, and would be a waste of your money to own one. Even if someone gave me these for free, I would throw it in the trash because I could buy an LCD display that has superior quality to what any of these technologies could provide even in their best day.

Plasmas are cheaper and have better blacks then LCD's. Not to mention will never flashlight or bleed. The only advantage LCD's have over plasmas is brighter whites and lower energy consumption.

But consumers don't care about the benefits that plasma provides

A consumer doesn't need an 80" screen. And a consumer doesn't care about the incrementally better blacks on plasma, because modern LCD contrast is "good enough".

You're talking about features that a home theater enthusiast would want. Not a mass market consumer with a budget below $5000

So is the used 22" CRT worth the time/money, and what make is it?

What does it do for you that a flat screen doesn't?
