When I go to college my dorm has cable TV, I would like to use it without getting a TV.
Are there any cheap adapters for going from cable (coaxial?) to usb?
The laptop is a Toshiba R10.

I doubt that exists.... You would need a TV tuner.

There aren't cable to USB adapters per se, but there are cable tuners that attach by USB to your PC. That would probably fit the bill for you. I don't think they would generally qualify as cheap, at least by college accounting standards, I think.

if you need to pay comcast, might as well get an external antenna and get REAL high-def TV (well, for mostly drama/tv shows at night where they broadcast 720p/1080i anyways).... if you are within range of a broadcasting tower... antennaweb.org
if you need more pointers/information, feel free to ask... -
I stand corrected then.
Sounds like you are on your way to TV watching glory.

The review of the product you have looks prefect for what I want
Just now it is $75 -
