Hi,
I have an HP 15-dw0054wm laptop. I am trying to figure out whether it is possible to have 3 distinct displays with this laptop (the laptop screen plus 2 monitors).
I have the Intel UHD Graphics 620 graphics card. According to Intel's website, the graphics card can handle 2 additional monitors.
For external ports, I have 1 HDMI, 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Data transfer only); 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C (data transfer only).
I was hoping to buy something like this to connect a monitor using the USB 3.1 Type-C port:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CZSB3VK/ref=dp_prsubs_2
However, since my 3 USB ports say "data transfer only", does that mean there is no way for me to set up use one of them to set up a second monitor?
Thanks!
Andrew

That USB-C port is not connected to transfer video, only USB hub information. You would not be able to use that Amazon adapter to connect another display as there is no video data. The laptop only supports video out via single HDMI port.

@new102 if you want an option that definitely works, get a USB3.0 to HDMI adapter. Note that using a monitor connected to this adapter for something GPU-intensive, e.g. games, won't be possible, but it will do just fine for regular office work.

Seems a lot of Mac users use the USB 3.0 to HDMI method with success. Although I may try to get the best quality adapter I could find.

Avoid any USB Type C adapter or hub unless it explicitly says DisplayLink. Almost all of them have simple USB Type C DP alt mode pass-through, thus useless to you, and the only USB Type C DisplayLink adapter I saw was bloody expensive. Better get a USB Type A adapter, the one I linked or some more advanced model - that way you can be sure it is DisplayLink and will work for you.
Can I connect 2 monitors to my laptop?
