Hey all, I am in the market for a new mouse and I went down to Comp USA and all the mice they have the smooth wheel scroll action![]()
I like the wheel scroll that isnt smooth (segmented) I hope you know what I'm talking about...my old MS intellimouse has it.
I like it because in games I can set it up to switch between hotbars easier...or do anything that requires a "click" type action like cycle through weapons in a shooter. With the smooth scroll wheels I either go too far or not far enough...it's the suck.
Anyone know of any mice that have segmented action on the scroll wheel?
And does anyone know if wireless mice have gotten better? especially for games...I used to hate them because they didnt respond as well as wired ones.
Thanks!

Most have the clicks, perhaps the ones on display were 'scrolled' out?
My mx700 has it, my v200 had it, and my old MS mouse had it too.
For games, check out the Razor Diamondbacks - or the mx518/G5 -
You must of been looking at the cheap mouses. My Logitech MX1000 and Logitech V200 has it.

i use my MX1000 Bluetooth version in Battlefield 2, it responds great, has good accuracy etc.. But if you are REALLY hardcore. Like the Hardcore player that needs a life and get off his computer, just go wired. Wireless mice are awesome now adays.

probably a cheap mouse will solve your problem

Another vote for the MX1000. My wife has the smooth-scrolling MS mouse and I hate it.

Most Logitech mouses, if not all, have the click in the wheel.
So far, V200, mx1000, G5, mx518, mx700, and mx900 - all the ones I've owned
Soon, v400 - I expect the same click in the wheel! -
Hi,
The Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000 which I got from a local Target store has a smooth scroll feature. This retails for about $25. Target has the shelf price as $19.99. It however rang up at $9.99. Pretty darn good price.
Here's a link to the review I just found on the web:

i think i am the only one that likes the smooth wheel, thanks for catering to me microsoft ^_^, i don't use the wheel in games, i think it's quicker to just use the numbers or whatever. lucky me i guess, ms mice os so comfortable

I got a Logitech G7 wireless.
I love it. 9.5 out of 10...
the only thing I dont like is there is only one button on the side of the mouse...I was cool with the forward and the back button but they removed one of them.
Otherwise...this mouse is awesome...with clicky scroll wheel too. -
Are you talking about the smoothness of the action of turning the wheel, or about its physical texture? I think some of the MS mice have textured wheels.
I also like for the buttons to be stiff and have a good click. IBM mice are great for that; MS is also OK in this area, but I find the Logitech buttons a bit soft.

all of the logitech gaming mice have it, im pretty sure none of the current MS mice click.
Can I get a mouse without the smooth wheel scroll?
