There was a crimp in my adapter line (Dell Inspiron e1405) and everytime I moved my laptop it would lose connection. I cut the line hoping that I can tie the wires together. Turns out the wire is surrounded by another wire, so I just seperated the two and linked them together. I never lose connection now, however, my battery slowly drained and never recharged. It's now at 0%. Everything is fine as long as I never unplug my adapter. Is there anything I can do or should I pay $70 for a new one? Can I just replace the line from the power source to the computer. Do they just sell that?
