I am going on a trip next month and will be using my Dell D820 notebook with Bluetooth and GPS to navigate by using Streets & Trips. I tested my notebook in the car and it is hard to use the touchpad while driving if I want to move my screen in or out for the map. It would be easier with an optical Bluetooth mouse, but I thought I read somewhere that Bluetooth can only comunicate with one Bluetooth device at a time? I use to use a GPS with serial connection, but I sure do enjoy wireless compared to power and communication cables laying all over in the car.

yes bluetooth devices are designed so that the can communicate up to 9 devices all the time you should have no problem syncing the only time a bluetooth device can sync to one other device is when it is on secure mode or battery saving mode

I wish you happy trails and drive safely =)
