    HI there,

I recently purchased a dell inspiron 8600 in new zealand and will soon be heading to Brasil. Will it be possible for me to use my computer there? I know I will need to get another power cord, but the powerpak will be ok, right?

Here in NZ out power sockets run at 240v, but I think in brasil it is only 110v - will this give me problems with the same powerpak?

    Thanks for your advice :)

You will need to buy a power converter/plug adapter for your powerpak. They are not too expensive, you could get one from Dell or buy one from a 3rd party. Don't try and use it in Brazil without one.

If you really get stuck and can't acquire one before you go, you can try to ask at the hotel lobby. Some hotels keep them around...sometimes for a small fee.
