Can U attach a computer monitor to an HTIB system for video display?

I know this is a preposterous question and this is not the right forum to ask this in but I am hoping that some people here are audio/videophiles and will be kind enough to answer my questions. I did indeed post it on an audiophile forum but no one will answer.

I am replacing my old bedroom minisystem and thye don't make ;em like they use to. The few decent ones around come with a progressive scan DVD player (and no CD changer ).

Up until now I have been playing DVDs on my widescreen laptops (ASUS z70va and HP Pavillion dv100t). I have purchased the following high resolution monitor which is supported by my laptops (thoguh I confess I haven't gotten it out of the box yet It sits next to my yet unused iRiver MP3 player ): UltraSharp 2007WFP 20.1-inch Widescreen Flat Panel LCD Monitor with Height Adjustable Stand.

I was wondering if I could connect it to an HTIB.. in particular, this one: JVC EX-A10 100-Watt DVD Executive Microsystem with Sake-Soaked Speakers There is areview of it more info that can be found here: J& R Music

or this: Yamaha MRC-E600

Edit: I forgot to mention that I don't own a TV... nor do I plan to...
