Hi! I got a pair of Jabra BT620S, and they paired fine with both my cell phone and laptop (the laptop says it's paired.. but...) but they do not work wirlessly with my laptop. They work fine with my phone.

It says that it doesn't have the driver, and it directed me to thee Broadcom Corporation:

    http://www.broadcom.com/products/bluetooth_update.php

I downloaded that, but when I try to install it it says that I can not upgrade using this website because my device is not supported. I'm technologically illiterate, so I'd REALLY appreciate some help. I have an XPS m1530 that I got in April. It has a Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Module (2.0+EDR). Can someone please help me?

is the laptop bluetooth switched on?

you need to pair the bluetooth headset first..

open the bluetooth thing on your pc then search for devices.. you need to keep the headset power button pressed.. i think jabra turns red right.. for pairing.. and then i think your pc will recognize it!!

Yes, it's switched on :p My laptop works with my phone just fine, too. If it matters, it's a Sony Ericsson W350. I have paired the headphones. It recognizes them fine, and in "Bluetooth Devices" , in properties of the headphones, under the services tab, it has Audio Sink, Handsfree Telephony, Headset, and Remote Control services listed. Audio Sink, Handsfree Telephony, and Remote Control are all checked, but Headset is not checked. I did check it, and it doesn't work :p It says I don't have the driver, so I download the driver from the website Windows directed me to, and I can't install it because it says my device isn't supported.

I'm using Vista if that matters.

After pairing to your laptop go to the sound option from the control pannel. there you will hopefully found the option of input and output. There you can chose headphone as your default.

It worked for me I am on XPS 1330, Vesta

If it works like my wireless headset it can connect in 2 ways. It can connect to the audio gateway and be used as your speaker (say to listen to music) or it can be connected as a headset device witch will activate the microphone.

Depending on what bluetooth stack your using there are different way to choose what service the devices uses. Bluesoleil is cool as the interface has pictures of each mode and you just click the one you want. (in this case the headphones picture for music and the ear piece icon for headset)

I have experience with the toshiba stack & bluesoleil. I did not use the MS stack that came with my new laptop equipped with a broadcom card for very long because it was total crap. Still to change the service on that one you right click it and go into properties and there should be a tab where you can pick the service.

After setting it up right also be sure to go into your audio control panel and see if the device is there. Make it the default device for sound playback and recording if it was not done automatically. Also note that any thing you want to use it with must be started AFTER you connect the device correctly.

Hi, I too have the Jabra BT620s and have had the mic problems using Toshiba Stack.

I found the solution, just a few minutes ago.

Here's what you need to do (Toshiba Stack be opened up by double clicking on the sys tray icon or using Start Programs): first, delete the current Jabra BT620s profile (but turn the headset off, or disconnect as it cannot be deleted while connected); second, click the new connection button, then choose custom mode; third, if the Jabra BT620s is not turned off, turn it off then hold down the power button until the leds are solid blue (this puts it in pairing mode); Toshiba Stack will now detect your headset, select it from the list and continue on, you should be prompted for the passcode (0000) and it should work from there (at least it did for me).

You can also have two different profiles, one for headset and one for headphones.

Oh, yeah, I typed most of this from memory, and I forgot to mention that during the headset setup process, you will be prompted to tap the left headset button a couple of times.

    I hope this helps.
