If I have cable TV, digital cable tv that is, and have a digital cable box,
do I have to connect the box to the tuner card or just the incoming cable from the wall?

Is there a way to have cable tv hooked up to both my computer AND regular TV?

you would need a splitter and extra two cables for you to have both your tv and computer hooked up

I figured the splitter would be needed but at what point do I put it?
after the signal leaves the box? Then whatever channel it is on it would display on both monitor and tv? That would be no problem

With these current LCD TVs is it possible to hook up a computer to it directly? Or I might just go with an Xbox360 extender

actually if u split it before the digital box then you can watch all the non digital ones but if u split it after the box then your only going to be able to watch whats on the other tv as well

right like whatever channel is on the box would be whats on the TV as well as the computer monitor right?

although if I split it before, I could watch all the nondigital channels on my TV while recording a different, digital channel on the PC?

I would like to make a home media PC but apparently I can only send files that are MPEG2s to my XBOX360 using Windows Media Center. So I'm confused, what do I do with all my files such as .avi's, MPEG4s, and the mountain of files when I rip a DVD to my harddrive?
