Can the MX5500 use integrated bluetooth? Like, the onboard for a laptop, or does it have to use the included USB bluetooth dongle? Im wondering the same thing about the microsoft entertainment desktop 7000.

If your laptop has integrated bluetooth then you won't need the bluetooth dongle for any bluetooth devices; the dongle is for those whose laptops do not have bluetooth.

Think integrated wireless vs usb wireless dongles' connectivity to a wireless router -- same concept.

Actually it is not that simple. The bluetooth dongle that is included has already been paired. So you dont need even an OS to use it. So you can use it in BIOS etc. However if you force the keyboard and mouse to do without the dongle and go with integrated you lose that functionality as bluetooth is OS controlled. Anyway you can re-pair it pretty easily if you ever need to. Just a minor annoyance.

It will have full function once you sync it with the internal bluetooth.

I told you, it's the same concept as wifi + router.
