I've searched Fry's, Staples, and BestBuy for a backpack-style case for 13" notebooks and I can't find any. They all cater to sizes 15" and up. I'd like a small backpack. Do you have one? Can you recommend one? Thanks!

Cin, thank you so much! What a coincidence. I logged on to edit or delete my post because I've found what seems to be the perfect laptop backpack for me. Your post, without discounting your effort and intent, will serve others well who are also looking for a small backpack or sling for their notebooks. Thanks again!!!

Here's what I found at Target (don't limit yourself to computer stores just because you're looking for computer accessories ;) ). It's an Eddie Bauer bag that holds my Sony VAIO SR very well. As mentioned above, my VAIO SR is a 13.3". I got this bag for $35 (low to mid price range, I would think).

The form and fit are perfect with padded backpack shoulder straps

    Exterior view. It's expandable.

First compartment holds my (L-R) power adapter, power cord, 3-plug power strip, and (front) HP Bluetooth wireless mouse.

Second compartment has a 3-divider sheet holder. You can fit a 1" 3-ring binder in there. Or, unzip to expand and hold a 3" 3-ring binder!

Third compartment is the laptop holder in a neoprene skin, padded by the exterior that rests on your back.

According to the manufacture specs, it can hold up to 15" laptops, but I would think that'll be extremely snug!

My VAIO slips into the neoprene skin.

My VAIO rests at the bottom of the bag. Like I said, I would think a 15" would be a little too snug for this backpack. I think it's perfect for a 13-incher!

Thanks Cin! I'm going on a convention this Wednesday for 3 days. At the end of the day, it'll be party time! There will be no time to get back to the hotel so this backpack will come in handy!!!

    Absolutely!

So I was curious. I've decided to try my (blue) Toshiba Satellite 15.4" in the bag. I didn't put in the neoprene pocket because I don't want to overstretch it. You can imagine how the corners would create a bulge on the zipper. Yup, it's a little too tight in there!

Nice! More, great useful pics' :D

It does look a tad *tight* ;)

Looks better with your Sony in it! :col:

I'm back from my travels. I highly recommend this bag. My hands were free. I didn't have to lean on one side like many would, carrying a standard laptop case. Walking around two airports, streets, and a large, long convention center didn't pose any problems on my back and shoulders. I hope many will benefit from this thread.

    WB from your travels! :D

I'm really glad to hear how well your your backpack held up for you, in all aspects! ;)

I think from the pictures you presented, and what you had to say about your backpack, others will surely benefit!
