This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Can't format my external hdd

    I have a Maxtor OneTouch III Mini and I'm trying to format it. I tried to format it in Disk Management, but it said "The format did not complete successfully." The Maxtor Easy Management tool failed to reformat it as well. Anyone own a Maxtor ext drive?

    I think this is a recent update - an older Version of CrystalDiskInfo couldn't read external drives either.
