Does anyone know if it's possible to use a generic bluetooth adapter to connect to the USB port on some of the Canon printers?

I currently have a Canon PIXMA MP600 and I know that it is bluetooth capable, but I don't want to buy the Canon Bluetooth Dongle (Canon Bluetooth Adapter BU-20) that they advertise because the cheapest I've found it online is like 50 bucks shipped. I would much rather buy a cheap $5-10 bluetooth dongle and use that instead.

Has anyone gotten a third party bluetooth dongle to work with any of the Canon PIXMA MPxxx series printers? I currently don't have a print server on my router and I can't get my XP (Desktop) & Vista (T61) machines to properly talk to each other over the network.

It would be nice to get the bluetooth working, because then I could use the different software applications such as the scanner & whatnot utilities through bluetooth on my laptop without having to always transfer what I want back & forth between computers.
