Been really curious about this and been searching around printerforums.net. I can't find the answer to this... but if anyone does know this is my question..

I am aware that the bci-6 color cartridges uses dye based ink for photo printing and the bci-3 uses pigment ink like the bci-3eBLK for literature printing. The thing is, why should I pay so much every month for bci-6 color cartridges when rarely do photo printing at all. Can I use the bci-3 color cartridges instead? Or would the difference in dye / pigment ink screw up the heads?
