    Hi, all.

My collection of USB sticks is growing. And I'm noticing that a lot of vendors don't include a cap to cover the connection/pin port. I don't want to carry them loose and uncovered in the laptop bag.

The memory sticks come with them, but sticks for mouse, keyboard, etc. don't.

Has anyone come up with any creative solutions for covering/protecting them?

    Thanks.

Well, if you look closely at the inside of the metal connector tip, you will see four bronze/gold metal stripes. As long as those make contact with the metal in the female port on your laptop, your device is just fine. Don't worry, it's very hard to break/disfigure the connector tip.

I love my Cruzer Titanium with the slide in-out design -- no cap to worry about!

Thanks for the replies. I'm not too worried about the connectors breaking/bending (maybe a little). More worried about fuzz, pre-chewed gum, or other unmentionables getting stuck up in there.

I like the plastic bag idea. And just thought of those hard travel cases for toothbrushes. One of those would hold one or two USB sticks pretty conveniently.

The Cruzer is a nice idea. If only the folks who made USB sticks for mice, keyboards, etc. would do the same thing. My Sandisk memory sticks have caps and my Sandisk card reader has a cap. Sandisk is to be commended for thinking of them.

Heh, the normal cruzers have poor caps. I broke all 3 that came with mine. Then I just took the thing apart. The new titanium ones are sweet though.

I have the cruzer mini, so mine retracts too. I had a sony microvault and lost the cap to it. It was fine getting beat around for a year in my laptop bag, yours should be ok.

I tend to find the caps annoying, I'm yet to have a problem with things getting in stuck in my USB's.
Not sure if any of these are what you want but I don't have to much time to look for others. http://search.lexar.com/exec/?q=caps
