So I'm going on a vacation in 2 days and well I wanted my laptop to tag along...well I need a Car Adapter...but I can't buy the ASUS car adapter cuz of lack of time (my laptop is ASUS F8Va-B1).

so I was wondering if I can goto like Canadian Tire (I'm from Canada so we have Canadian Tire =P) and buy the converter for AC power outlet to Car Adapter?? or the Targus universal power adapter or whatever they are (are they compatible with ASUS power adapters??? are they reliable???)

btw on the power block that is on the power outlet says:
    the input is 100-240V ~ 50-60Hz 1.5A
and the output is 19V 4.74A
(I donno if that will help with my question or anything =P )

Yes. The inverters work quite well. I have used my laptop on an inverter plenty of times and they are a much cheaper solution.

They would both get the job done. But the Targus is probably more expensive. So why bother?
