So I realize none of my notebook bags or backpacks can fit my Cooler Master Storm SF-19 cooler. I'll be leaving for a flight tomorrow and want to know what I can put it in and if it can be accepted for carry on. It does have a handle that allows you to carry it but I want to know if I must keep it in a bag of some sort and if any of you awesome folks have some ideas for taking it with me. The cooler is essential since I plan on playing games and having a few LAN parties during my vacation (my notebook would overheat and downclock without the cooler).
Even if just to know that the airport will allow me to carry the cooler with me will be great news and useful. Thanks!

Guess it depends on where you're flying from but when I was flying from Sweden to Thailand I took my 17" cooler in one hand and my hand lugage in the other. They simply asked me to run it through the X-ray like everything else and nothing more to it than that. From Thailand to Sweden there was some more "investigation" they look at it somewhat baffled for 5 min but eventually understood that yes, it was indeed a laptop cooler.
I can imagine flying from / in US they are a bit more "bet thats a bomb" but can't see why it should be a problem if you run it through the x-ray. I would e-mail a few pictures of the cooler and call the airport just to make sure. -
I don't see any problems with having the cooler. I fly often and always have my cooler with me; mine fits in my over-sized briefcase though. TSA has never even taken the cooler out of the briefcase for inspection. As for stowing the cooler, I would put it in one of my checked baggage or if your one of 'those guys' that has a large carry on it may fit in that as well.
I've flown out of and into all the major airports as well. -
As long as you're not carrying a prohibited item (weapons, chemicals, bombs, liquids in containers over 100g in volume), then you are fine. In the US, they won't even ask you what that thing is. If the TSA suspects an item or package is dangerous, then they do the wipe-down and analysis using a trace explosives detector. If the item passes, they let it through.
Carrying 19 inch cooler on airport (is it allowed)?
