Does anyone know of a case (preferably a backpack or roller) that would have two padded pockets for laptops? I'm traveling for work, and want to get a gaming laptop (17" widescreen) for personal use while on the road, but I also need to take my business laptop (14" standard) with me, and I'd rather not try to carry on two laptop cases when I fly.

Any help would be much appreciated.

You could just look for a good padded bag for your 17", and then just get a sleeve for your 14". I've done that with my Compal and Macbook.

Now, what's the official weight limit for hand baggage on planes?

I put my two relatively thin and light notebooks (each in a thin sleeve) into a small trolley case and with a few other essential items it was up at 12kg. I guess that the Swissgear Roller could be approaching 20kg when well filled.

Can your two computers use the same PSU (not at the same time)? That would reduce the weight a little.

Official weight limits vary greatly by airline and destination. How strictly they enforce the rules varies even more.

I actually asked a very similar question a few days ago; whilst browsing for bags I found this one:

    http://www.ebags.com/mcklein/p_seri...p_case/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=71713

cost is a little over 100 bucks, enough space for two lappies (but not much more). Size is good for 17" notebooks, description on there is apparently a typo if you look through the reviews and info pages on McKlein's official site. I need a separate carryon/trunk to put at the minimum a few days' clothes and a pair of safety boots (not gonna find anything that's gonna carry two laptops and boots at the same time w/o being uncumbersome) anyway, and because flights I'm on tend to be on the mini-mini jets (you know, the ones where you have to crouch down while going through the aisles) the 7" depth was appealing -- means there should be no way that thing won't fit under a seat or on the overhead bin of small planes.

Of course, since my next trips going to be a couple months away I haven't gotten the bag yet; in reality I'd rather have something slightly bigger so I'm looking around for dimensions to the overhead bin on a RJ145, but Dr.Google doesn't seem to be helping me out much. mikey: does the case you own fit in overhead bins for the smaller airplanes? If 8.5" fits, then there's a few other options I may want to be looking at.
