Thats the one I would have recommended, but if you get rid of the notion that wired mice are "un-take-with-you-able", you can save some money going with an MX518.

There are review for this product, which is a great mouse by the way. The rubber grip is excellent for gamers who get sweaty hands, and the ability to change the dpi on the fly is quite useful. I would highly recommend it.

Why can't you take a corded mouse with you? Anyway for a corded mouse the Logitech G5 is awsome. For wireless since your talking casual gaming(this is a good multipurpose mouse) go with the Logitech VX Revolution.

It's probably the best all-around mouse for laptops right now. The laser, battery life, size, and reliability/looks are all great.

I just figured a corded mouse would be more comfy in kind of stuffy workspace...

    Perfectly.

Response time is virutally non existant, DPI is high, the laser is great, and there are plenty of buttons on the mouse.
