Hey, I am looking for a nice wireless mouse for gaming. I am not looking to spend too much(max is 50$, the lesser the better) and would also prefer the mouse to be bluetooth. The most important things I am looking for are ergonomics and battery life(would be great if the mouse has its own rechargeable battery), I am currently considering the Logitech M505 and the M510. Also the Gigabyte M7700 peaks my interest as it is bluetooth but it seems to have terrible battery life.

So basically what you mean is that all bluetooth mic have bad performance?? What about the Gigabyte M7700 it has 1600dpi and is bluetooth. I know 1600 is not too mch but at 25$ who is complaining. Newegg is also offering the Microsoft X8 at 60$ currently but I dont like the fact that the receiver is large. I am not necessarily looking for something high end with good performance, my current mouse is a Microsoft that cost me 20$ way back in 2003. So anything would be a vast improvement

The issue with Bluetooth is lag; BT has the longest response time of any wireless technology. Most Bluetooth mice have 14ms response. By comparison, "normal" wired and USB wireless mice have 8ms, and gaming-grade mice have at most 1 or 2ms.

DPI is irrelevant if your mouse has such a prohibitively laggy response. Even the Razer Orochi, which is the closest thing to a Bluetooth gaming mouse, has 8ms response when in Bluetooth mode (it has a detachable USB cable allowing for 1ms response).

There are a few good wireless gaming mice, but they're USB wireless and most of them have large receivers/base stations, and they're pricey. The Logitech G700 and Razer Mamba are the two top models at this point. Cheaper older models like the Logitech G7 and Microsoft Sidewinder X8 are also good choices.

You'd really get a lot more mouse performance for your dollar if you're willing to consider a wired mouse, but if it has to be wireless, you'll have to either compromise or spend more money.

Logitech G700 is available for 70$ on Newegg. The X8 is also available for 60$. Above your budget but they are great.

Wow the X8 and the G700 look great. I will consider them but i just can't justify more than 50$ for a mouse. The Mamba is great but way to pricey. How will a non gaming mouse fare against the G700 and the X8?? I am talking about the Logitech M505, it seems great for 30$ but i could not find the DPI rating for that.

Honestly, I've never gamed with (or even used) a mouse that cost me more than about $10, and I've never noticed lag that was not due to VSync, video drivers, or the like.

How is the M705, it is currently my top contender.
Yeah, that is why i am trying to get something as cheap as i can. I could not find any wireless laser mice less than 20$. Since i also want nice ergonomics the 30$ m505 was the cheapest i could find.

Ok, I have now narrowed it down to the M705 and the M510. The M510 is cheaper and larger. The M705 is smaller but more expensive. The M510 seems great except that it seems to be too large, but i fear the m705 may be too small for a palm grip, it looks like it is meant for the claw grip.

At a price range of <$50 USD, you won't find a wireless gaming mouse.

You can find wireless mice, like the Logitech M705 or the Logitech M510. The Logitech M705 is not a gaming mosue, because it has low DPI (1000dpi), low USB polling rate (125Hz / 8ms), and does not have a lot of configuration options that gamers use (profiles, highly adjustable DPI / polling rate settings).

You can find wired gaming mice for under $50, like a Logitech G500, Logitech MX518, or Razer DeathAdder. These mice have high dpi, high USB polling rates, and are highly configurable through software.

The cheapest wireless gaming mouse you will find is going to be the Logitech G700, which costs $70. So I think you need to figure out what your priorities are. You can pick 2 of the 3 from the list below:

    (1) Novelty of being wireless
    (2) Performance of a gaming mouse
    (3) Price below $50

Ok i dont necessarily need a gaming mouse, just a mouse that can perform well enough. I mean my current mouse is a Microsoft Optical mouse and it must have a DPI of 200. So anything would be a upgrade. I am just looking to spend as little as possible. Also how would you rate the Logitech G700?? How does it fare against the X8?? and also is there anything better available(than them, needs to be wireless)

Logitech M705. Its a great wireless mouse, and is "good enough" for gaming. $35.

The biggest drawback of gaming wireless mice is that the battery life is horrendous (1-3 days max battery life, before needing recharging). A Logitech M705 Marathon mouse has batteries that will last you 3 years or so.
If all you need is a solid, dependable, general-purpose mouse, get a Logitech M705

Where can you find the M705 for 35$, i remember it was 35$ one newegg yesterday but today the price is 50$. How would the M510 compare with the m705?? Also the m705 seems to be unsuitable for a palm grip, it seems to be more of a finger tip grip and a claw grip kind of mouse. Also do you happen to know the DPI of these 2??
Also do you know where i can find the g700 for the cheapest price??

Wait for rebates. The Logitech M705 is $30-$35 after rebates.

The M510 has a smaller shape, does not have hyperscrolling wheel, does not have ridiculously long battery life. It is not suitable for palm grip - only finger / claw grip.

But to set expectations, the Logitech M705 isn't really suitable for palm grip either, because it is small. You really need to go to something like a Logitech Performance MX to get a palm-grippable non-gaming mouse.

I know the DPI of the Logitech Marathon Mouse M705 has a 1000dpi, and a USB polling rate of 125Hz / 8ms. But to be honest, when you're not looking at gaming mice, then these specs are irrelevant, because none of them will perform anything close to a gaming mouse. It is like trying to decide between a Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic, when the other guy is driving a Ferrari.

Logitech Marathon mouse M705 has a 1700 dpi I think. It also has 3 yrs of battery life as you probably have seen.

I think the M705 is larger than the M510. The M705 is meant for medium sized hands. I've tried one out at Walmart before.

Or you could go with the G700 or G500. Those are bigger, but battery life is like a month or so.

From unboxing videos on youtube it seems the m510 is larger, the m510 is a full size mouse, isn't the m705 smaller?? Though the M510 does seem to be wider. Also how does the Anywhere MX compare to these 2?

    Nope. 1000dpi
    Source: Link

Nope. Logitech M705 has a larger "bump", but is slightly shorter. Logitech M510 is "longer".

Nope. Logitech G700 lasts about 1-3 days on gaming-performance mode, and about 2 weeks on non-gaming mode. Logitech G500 is a wired mouse.

Actually you'll be lucky to squeeze 3 days out of the G700 at the lowest settings, that's the biggest drawback of this mouse. And myself I find it to be a bit too big.
Honestly if you're not a hardcore gamer the M705 will be more than fine for you.
