Someone give me some recommendations on one. I just got my HP DM4t and now I need a mouse for it. I want one with a small receiver as I want the portability. I'll mostly be using it for web surfing and word processing and whatever I need to do at college. Under $30 would be preferable.

Quick opinions: Logitech M305 vs Microsoft wireless Mobile Mouse 4000
Which should I go for? -
I gave this to my mom, Microsoft Explorer Mini Mouse, as she didnt like the trackpad on the ul30, and she loves it.... not sure if its the best... but its a nice mouse for the money.

The MS Mobile Mouse 6000. It is also a very good mouse with a very tiny Nano receiverIt also has Bluetrack technology, making movement over many "surfaces" fairly easy. The storage of the receiver is "underneath" the mouse, very nice for portability & convenience, there are 5 customizable buttons, along w/4 way scrolling features.
The "grip" on the mouse, it just feels really good in your hand.Oh, and the battery life is very, very decent! Less than $30 shipped thru amazon!

I ended up buying the Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 from Best Buy (having them price match OfficeMax's $19.99) and using a $10 card from recycling an old TV. So I ended up paying $11.64.
Seriously, its a great mouse, very comfortable to the hand, works on every surface I tried (wood table, glass table, leather couch, carpet, my bare leg) and while I am using in the "out of the box" settings it seems pretty configurable. I really like the looks of the Logitech Anywhere MX mouse (seems a bit sleeker) and think the ability to mate up the Nano receiver with other devices like a keyboard is a really nice feature, the list price of the Logitech is $80 and the best price I have seen is $50. So for less than half of that this Microsoft 4000 seems a much better deal.
I do want to find a cheap "case" for the mouse (I do like that you can store the Nano receiver in the baseof the mouse though; I don't recall if you can do that with the Logitech). Any suggestions on mice cases? -

I have an Logitec M205. Nice, ergonomically designed and very cheap. about 15 Euro

I went with the Logitech m305. Was worth it although I haven't used it a whole lot yet. Even with it being optical, it seems to work very well on all the surfaces I've tried it on.

Good one, I also have read reviews about Logitech Anywhere MX.

It's so good!!
